My classes...

My classes are very informal. Each student works on their own choice of painting. Every student's painting is an opportunity for me, their instructior to help them problem solve and complete a finished watercolor. I give demonstrations, offer hands on help and gentle critiques. A little chit-chat, a little music and some coffee! My goal is for each student to master the skills on their own level.

2019 Thursday Beginner Class

Week 3: It is getting a bit more complicated!  We have moved outside and are trying our skills at a landscape.  Same concepts as with a still life.  All the shades of green.

Week 2: the class did a full still life from a photo.  They had to hand draw.  Next is to start to understand mixing color and how to build color.  Learning to control a brush and the amount of water to use.  They are also learning their own style.

Week 1:  I have a full class of beginners and they all finished a pear from life.  I had two varieties of pears and each painting is different. Learning to see shape, color, texture and shadows. Great start!
